Sucre (Technical)
5 hours
The Sucre sits upright on the continental slope at depths ranging from 175 to 225 feet, with the main deck resting at 190 feet. Cranes and cargo holds are the backdrop for schools of amberjacks and other large fish that congregate on the wreck, also known as the Johnny Morris. Built in 1957 as the Louise, the ship changed owners and names several times before being seized by the US Coast Guard with over 300 pounds of cocaine onboard. On April 27, 1996 it was intentionally sunk off the coast of Pompano Beach where it serves as an artificial reef. This trip is open to Technical Divers/Students with instructors only.
